be happy

The Lord has done great things for us - and we are filled with joy. Psalm 126:3

A wise woman once told me (okay, it was my sister... last week) that sometimes finding real happiness is as simple as consciously choosing to be happy. Though I chuckled a bit to myself (she's a newlywed twenty-something, what could she possibly know other than happy?), I decided it couldn't hurt to give it a try. Being with my family last week - in a week that was so hard for so many we love - I was reminded that God has truly  blessed me and mine beyond our wildest dreams . Who am I to complain? or sulk? or doubt? So, for the past few days, I've stepped out of bed (EARLY) and stood firm each morning on those promises HE gives. Beautiful children, an amazing husband, love of our families, health, wealth, comfort, the list goes on. If I just put aside my own expectations, slow down, and pay attention to what HE has made so perfectly mine, I don't have to CHOOSE. I just AM - filled with joy.

  2. Don't you love it when God is SOOOOO clear about what He wants to tell you!!! Today, Pike preached in Galations 6 about carrying your backpack - how each of our burdens fits us perfectly and we just make it work. I love my backpack! I'm sure the podcast will show up here in a few days:
