We love to take long weekend holidays in the Hill Country. On our last trip, we were looking for something new. As you may know, both bourbon and Texas have long been "interesting" to Davey, so when we learned that bourbon was being made in Texas, we just had to check it out. I think we may have been one of the first tours shown at Garrison Brothers Distillery and what a great day it was! The property and process is just beautiful although a bit smelly. They even blend with fresh Hill Country rain water harvested in barrels onsite. You can see by my photos from the day (below) that I just loved the property. Of course, we couldn't leave without getting queued up for the prerelease of Garrison Brothers Straight Texas Bourbon Whiskey, which was fittingly introduced on Texas Independence Day - March 2, 2010.
